Paul E. & Helen S. Meyer Foundation
Founded in Las Vegas in 1994 by Pauline Meyer, Paul E. Meyer and his wife, Helen, the Paul E. & Helen S. Meyer Foundation’s early mission was to provide scholarship opportunities for Las Vegas college students, as well as community service projects, such as the Helen Meyer Community Center. The PH Meyer Foundation has also been a long-time supporter of the Las Vegas Public Television (KLVX) Ready to Learn Program, and has supported in the past the KNPR Reading Services for the Blind.
On the passing of Mr. Meyer in 1999, his granddaughter, Amy Terry, assumed the position of President and began expanding the scope of the PH Meyer Foundation’s missions. While still offering the scholarship opportunities and local community support, the Foundation has now included into their partnerships such organizations and events as: the Agassi Grand Slam for Kids, Marti Ward Communities for Christ’s orphanage and school in Bungoma, Kenya, Cornerstone Christian Church, Odyssey Charter School, and Touro University Nevada. It continually seeks opportunities to support organizations that effectively and positively impact the lives of people in Clark County and globally.
The PH Meyer Foundation’s crowning accomplishment was founding White Horse Youth Ranch (WHY Ranch) in 2006. WHY Ranch’s program, Diamonds in the Rough, offered Clark County the only free after-school horse riding and equine education program that pairs underprivileged children with retired show horses in a way that healed hearts, inspired minds and preserved Nevada’s Western heritage.
