Patient Advocacy Program
In addition to the grants and scholarships we offer from our private family foundation assets, we also offer direct client support through our Patient Advocacy Services.
The Patient Advocacy Program is a publicly funded, volunteer driven program to help the most vulnerable people in our society through our elaborate medical systems: children, the elderly, and US Veterans. We offer direct patient advocacy to those who might not have a support system. We are not affiliated with any specific hospital, and we work solely on behalf of patients and their caregivers.
We also offer caregiver support and respite for those who are caring for their loved ones in hospital or other medical facilities. We have volunteers who can walk you through insurance approval and claim processes, as well as help you review and understand medical billing.
This program was developed in loving memory of Mr. & Mrs. Meyer, Pauline Meyer, and Paula Davis.
Patient & Caregiver Advocates
Sometimes the information coming at a patient or their caregivers is at lightning speed and sometimes as more specialized than what average, non-medical people can grapple with. With Patient/Caregiver Advocacy, we work directly with patients and their families or other caretakers during hospital stays or other medical services. We serve as liaison between the patients/caregivers and the medical teams that are overseeing their cases.
Insurance Advocates
Insurance pre-approval requests, claims, and denials can be intricate. Sometimes insurance companies require more information, or simply deny a claim/pre-approval because of a simple error in data input. For some patients, it can become so overwhelming as to become problematic, particularly for those not used to dealing with insurance companies. Our Insurance Advocates can walk you through these scenarios in a way that recognizes you as a consumer.
Billing Advocates
If we think insurance issues can be complicated, medical billing can eclipse everything with their intricacies. Billing is dependent on a number of variables that include the specific health system, the departments within those systems, services rendered, insurance payments, and patients’ copay structures. As a result, billing errors are not uncommon, neither is the difficulty level of understanding those bills. Our Billing Advocates can help you sort through the numbers.
